Using art as a vehicle for leadership, critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, CAM Raleigh develops student leaders through their unique Docent Program.
After working extensively with CAM Raleigh in the past, we were excited to create a new film that focused specifically on one of their distinguishing initiatives—the Docent Program. The idea was to shine the spotlight on a particular student who was thriving as a result of the program and show the impact the docents were having on the community.
"When you're growing up... There's OFTEN a moment that makes the difference. The Docent program is doing that."
As we set out to make the film, we discovered just how much thought and intention the museum puts into everything—be it the activities they facilitate, the people they introduce the students to, and the responsibility they give to each of the docents. For those of you who have encountered one of the docents during an opening exhibition, you know how integral these students are to the fabric of CAM. The film premiered during the museum’s annual Arthouse fundraising event in May 2015.
