A Nascar pit crew transforming a customer’s truck into a Nutrien race truck! This was a spot we were super pumped to be able to help bring to life thanks to the brilliant Think Shift team!
We love a good challenge – and this one had its share! The Think Shift agency team came up with a great concept for their client Nutrien and needed full turnkey production once they landed, so Remedy was brought in to help bring the concept to life. In short, it involved a single day of shooting outside in the dead heat of summer, timing thunderstorms and clouds, as well as getting great performances out of all non-actors! Nothing huge, but some fun variables to make sure we had a solid plan for.
DETAILS
The truck had to magically get decal’d within the spot, so we had both versions of the truck ready and on-site during our scouts, then unwrapped the decal’d truck and returned both to the rental company – if only they knew! There was a love of coordinating shots to have the sun at the right spot throughout the day, while we supplemented and wrapped the light with large diffusion frames and a 4k HMI with shiny boards and mirrors for edge light. We mixed dolly shots with more phrenetic handheld shots to dial the energy up and down throughout the rhythm of the script. And we nearly melted those tires with all the takes of the truck doing gravel lot donuts!
It was a really amazing group of people and we had as much fun as we’ve ever had on set with this one. Credit goes to the Think Shift team on bringing it home with a great edit and for a client like Nutrien to bring us all in on the fun. Check it out!
